Singapore Air Mobile App

The Singapore Air Mobile app allows user to book flight for the world class Singapore Airlines. The mobile app also serves as a travel companion app for users post booking, providing contextual and self-service features. The following are some of the areas that I’ve had the privilege to design for. 

Purchasing an air ticket often comes with countless amounts of research, from price comparisons to flight routes and timings. We get it. Based on insights into users’ behavior, I’ve had the chance to design features that help aid users in searching for the perfect match for their next holiday or business trip. These include the swap button for destinations and enhancements for the price comparison calendar

Online Check-in

With the rise in contactless and digital interaction, the Online Check-in feature is key in facilitating a seamless travel experience for users. However, it’s not a fairytale every day. Based on user feedback collected, there were pain points and blockers that were neglected. Through a design review and a series of usability testing with actual users, a enhancement that helped in addressing key issues was created.

Traveling during a pandemic is filled with a ton of processes and procedures that vary from country to country (sometimes, even state to state). To aid our users, the Covid-19 Travel advisory were created for users to view the latest information regarding their destination all in one spot.

Compliance

& security 

Part of being a mobile app for a world-class leading airline entails various compliance and security-related issues. Ensuring a seamless and safe experience for users, involve educating and communicating certain information to users. Some of these include Krisflyer membership redemptions to credit card masking and App Store compliances. 

Festive loading spinners

The little details matter. Delighting users in the waiting is possible too. This is done through a festive loading spinner in celebrating Singapore’s independence. 

Marketing collaterals

Alongside designing features for the mobile app, I’ve helped with the creation and support of various marketing-related collaterals and initiatives relating to the mobile app.  

Self service functionality

As part of being a companion app for users, native seat selection was made available on the app. Currently, users are also able to do that for trips that includes flights operated by other STAR alliance airlines on the website which is an experience that is being implemented for the mobile app currently.
